While grants from the Nancy Quinn Fund and the Puffin Foundation will help defray the cost of our upcoming show, we depend on the support of generous people like you. Without your support, our work is just an idea. Your contribution makes it a reality. Any amount you can donate will be put directly to work for this production.

  • $50 covers the cost of rehearsal space for one day.

  • $100 helps pay for postcards and marketing.

  • $500 pays an actor's stipend.

  • $1,000 will go towards covering the performance space for a week.

The Committee's next production will be Ken Urban's The Private Lives of Eskimos, directed by Dylan McCullough.

Marvin loses his cell phone, but when he calls his number, a mysterious women answers, turning his world upside down.

The show will open in September 2007 at the Linhart Theater on Lafayette Street in New York.

In a Florida hospital room, a husband – who shall remain nameless for legal reasons – keeps vigil at the bedside of his ex-wife, now forced to live in a vegetative state. In an expensive apartment in New York, the grieving Philip hires a woman to deliver a message to his recently deceased wife. Then the letters start arriving. For both men, their beloveds won’t die, and something has to give. Things end badly, and songs are sung in this multimedia meditation on wives and death.

It is true, as this photo proves, that The Committee Theatre was represented at the ART/NY Intern Fair on March 10.

We met many wonderful prospects (hello out there) and while only Judson appears in the photo, rumors continue that Dylan was there as well.

Alas, there is not photographic proof to this rumor.

i know this is all about the theatre but i can't resist:

5 ALBUMS TO GET EXCITED FOR IN 2007

1.) new Stars of the Lid: after 6 years SOTL are back. judging from the 2 MP3s that are out there from the new april album, it is time to get depressed and crank it up for some more ambient Erik Satie-loving goodness
2.) the new Deerhoof, FRIEND OPPORTUNITY: if your high school marching band weren't a bunch of losers, they'd make music as kicking as this.
3.) BRACKEN: with hood on sabbatical for another year, this solo outing will have to do, but the track "heathen" is reminding me why i loved COLD HOUSE and why you should too.
4.) THE GOOD, THE BAD AND THE QUEEN: you can hate damon albarn all you want but this stuff is GOOD, hauntology for the masses
5.) the new Bloc Party, A WEEKEND IN THE CITY: ok, i downloaded it already. but it is damn good and deserves to be a big hit. plus Kele is family, if you'll pardon my lesbian lingo
